One year old

It has been a while since we have posted and life has been busy. Isabelle turned one on November 15th. We had a wonderful rubber duckie themed birthday party with our families and friends. Isabelle was given lots of toys and she loves them all. She got a whole band including drums, keyboard and guitar, and 4 babies that she loves on and hugs and carries with her all the time. She is walking everywhere and has been since she was 10.5 months old. She is talking all the time and says between 10-15 words like: what's that?, dog, cat, outside, football, grandpa, bear etc. Also she can point out animals in books and she can tell you what the dog says "woof" and the sheep says "baa". It is too cute. She is such an amazing blessing. We had her one year visit at the Dr. and she is 31 1/4 inches tall (this is half as tall as me, i am 62 inches tall) and she weights 23 lbs 10 oz. When the nurse came in to measure her she had to do it twice because she was off the charts on height. I guess she gets that from daddy, we all know it is not from me.
We will post some pictures of her soon from the last couple of months. Our digital camera has been broken by Isabelle and we sent it off to the warranty company 6.5 weeks ago and they just now have said that it will be replaced, but we are still waiting to hear from them about when we can get a new one.

Step by step

Isabelle is trying to walk. She started taking a few steps on her own a couple of weeks ago. She now takes a step or two to get from furniture to furniture and when you put her in front of you she will walk between two people and take up to 6 steps so far. She is pretty wobbly and she usually gets distracted by something like a toy or music and she falls down. I am sure with in the next week or two she is going to be walking all around. She is such a big girl!!
Also she is talking a lot more and getting a little personality. She says mama, dada, mom, dad, cat, dog, meow, uh-oh, oh-no, ouch, duck and I am sure there are others that I cannot think of right now. She also signs all done when she is done eating and more when she wants more.
She is getting a little temper too. Yesterday I was at my mom's picking her up and my mom had gotten her a new game and she was taking the ducks out of the game and throwing them across the room and when I told her not to do it, she would get made and start grunting and throwing more ducks.
We are starting to plan her 1st birthday party. It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since she was born. It truly feels like a few weeks ago that she was born. She has changed so much over the past year. She is such a blessing to our family.

Clapping for Colorado!!

Clapping for Colorado!!!

Isabelle has learned a new skill, much to the enjoyment of mommy and daddy. Daddy has been trying to get her to clap for a while now. We've decided that she needed a reason to clap. Well, it's football season and therefore daddy will need a good luck charm for the Colts games. Now Isabelle can clap for the Colts right along with daddy. Now I just have to teach her to say "BOOOO!!" when anyone mentions the Patriots.
Anyway, the more likely explanation for the sudden clapping is that we have been telling Isabelle for a couple weeks that she is going to fly in an airplane to go see Grandpa Bill, Grandma Liz, and her aunts Conner and Madison. We figure she's probably, actually 'clapping for Colorado'.
Isabelle is looking forward to showing everyone how she can crawl so fast as to disappear, and how she loves to be tickled. Mommy and Daddy are modestly awaiting to show off her wonderful laugh and all her teeth. you can see most of these said teeth in the new video of her clapping here.
Well, that's all for now, we must pack as we leave tomorrow. Keep an eye out for new pictures from Santa Fe, and Longmont.

New tooth

Isabelle is getting a new tooth. It is the top middle left tooth. She has not been fussy with it, she just is not sleeping thru the night. This is tooth number three. She cannot wait to be able to eat big people food. When I am eating and she is sitting on my lap she watches me bring the food to my mouth and then opens her mouth too.

A few photos

Some recent pictures of Isabelle.

Going for a walk with Mommy while Daddy was gone at CIY.

Hanging out in the morning waiting for mom to get ready.

She loves her Johnny Jumper.
She does not leave on her sunglasses for very long.

Swim Lessons

Isabelle started swim lessons last saturday. They were supposed to start the Saturday before but got cancelled due to the horrible weather we have been having. I was not sure how she would react to the pool, but she LOVED it. She splashed her hands and kicked her feet and jumped up and down in the water. She did not mind the water in her face at all. There were other babies in the class, but she was much more active than them. Hopefully this week she will be as happy. I am going to take the camera next week and try to get it on video. I will post it once I get it.

7 months Old

Isabelle is growing so fast. She is 7 months old already.
Things she is doing:
She is trying to crawl, she gets up on her hands and knees and rocks, but she has not figured out how to go forward yet.
She still only has two teeth, but by the way she slobbers and put her hands in her mouth, I don't think it will be long before she gets more.
She has figured out how to pull herself up on the cradle and crib.
She sits up all by herself now without toppling over.
She recoginzes familiar faces and reaches out to people.
She HATES the car seat and cries when she is put in it every time. (thank goodness for Pacifiers)
She gives kisses and hugs.
Waves bye-bye to mommy.

Teeth

Isabelle officially has her first teeth. She has two on the bottom. They are visible now when she laughs and they are so cute. I first noticed the one tooth last week on the way home from Illinois, but it had not poked thru the skin yet. She was not fussy or anything before they came in. Hopefully I can get a picture soon of her with her teeth. Right now she just puts her tongue over them when you try to look at them. Today Jason put his finger in her mouth and she bit down on it and left a mark.

I am attaching her 5 month pictures that we got done at Target. They are so cute, but it helps when the subject is so cute.

She can now roll over from her tummy to her back both ways. She has not figured out how to roll from back to tummy yet but she is close. She can sit up pretty good without assistance too.

Roll Over

Well she finally did it! Last night we got home from my parents after celebrating Easter and I put her down for tummy time. I figured she would not be happy about it because she has not felt good all week and she was running a fever yesterday of 101.3. I put her down and almost immediately she rolled from her tummy to her back. Jason and I were both in the room so we both got to see it. I was so excited I started clapping and she kept looking at me like "what just happened?" She did not cry or anything like I thought she might.
Jason and I have both gotten her cold now. Ah the joys of having a sick child.

18 Weeks

Isabelle has her first cold, runny nose and a horrible cough. She went to her 4 month check up yesterday and she saw her pediatrician for the first time. She really liked her. She was talking to the doctor and smiling at her. More shots were done. Yesterday on top of the cold, she had a fever from the shots and she still has it today. So far the highest it has been is 101.8. Apparently this is normal or that is what all the books say. Hopefully today it will go down. She is growing. Her weight is 13lbs 4oz, length is 25 1/4 inches. She had been sleeping thru the night for one week before this cold, but now we have had a little set back with the cold.

Jason and I are doing good. We are trying to plan a trip to Colorado and possibly Sante Fe, New Mexico for September. We are going to fly out there with Isabelle it would be too hard to drive. It always takes so much work to plan a trip. Jason is working a lot now that Spring and Summer are coming up.

13 Weeks

It has been a while since we have posted. I am back at work now so I will be taking over the blogging for the Welty Family. We are doing good. I have been back to work at Allstate now since January 28th and I just started back at Bath and Body Works on February 10th. I am only working one day a week at Bath and Body Works. Jason has been busy with the snow that we have gotten this winter, although not as busy as the weather men predicted.

Smiling at Mommy and at the Ice Skating Rink with Youth Group
Isabelle is getting so big. We went to the doctor on 2/8 and she weighs 12 lbs 1 oz and she is 23.75 inches long. She has been having some trouble with spitting up/vomiting for several weeks now and we think it is related possibly to a milk allergy, so I have been writing down what I eat and trying to avoid milk products to see if this helps.

We got her three month pictures taken this past weekend and they are really cute. I can't believe she is almost three months already. She is cooing and smiling and sometimes it almost sounds like a little laugh. She has such a sweet little personality. The pictures below were her 2 months pictures.

10 weeks

We've made it to 10 weeks, and Isabelle is a joy. Sarah has spent most nights sleeping in the recliner with baby. Isabelle is out of most all newborn clothes. She was introduced to her grandpa Bill and Grandma Liz, along with aunts Conner and Madison, and Great Grandma Carol, Great Grandpa Bob all at Thanksgiving. Everyone thought she was beautiful. Sarah and I knew she was, but it's always good to hear. We had a great first Christmas together. Isabelle also got to meet Aunt Mary, Uncle Don, Electa, and Hannah. It was great to see them and fun to spend some time with the Gilmore's. We all went up to Fort Wayne for New Years. We had fun spending time at Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Chris's. Dad and Liz and the girls were up in "The Fort" with us. Unfortunately, the threat of snow forced us to come home on New Year's Eve, but we still had fun. Over the past couple of weeks Isabelle has begun to make sport of vomiting all over mommy and daddy, making us change our clothes both baby and mommy/daddy. Some good news, however, the past few nights, Isabelle has spent more time sleeping in her cradle. 3 hours, 4 hours, then 8 full hours last night from 9pm to 5am. Timing on this couldn't be better as Sarah starts back to work tomorrow. Sarah's not thrilled about going back to work, but I don't think she's necessarily dreading it either. We are all missing everyone we haven't seen in a while. Hope all is well.....
